Brrr it’s cold out there! Our Pre-K3 friends have been busy learning about animals that hibernate! They spent time learning about what hibernation means and exploring some animals that hibernate. We explored their winter dens and practiced making our own winter dens using toothpicks, cotton balls, and play-doh! We made our very own bear caves using recycled materials, such as brown paper bags, shredded paper and cut up paper towel tubes. The students also spent some time learning about how animals adapt to the cold weather. Using paper towel tubes, sunflower butter, and bird seed, we made bird feeders and hung them outside for the birds that don’t fly south for the winter! We’ve enjoyed learning about winter and winter animals, but are counting down the days until Spring!
