Spirituality & Service

Our students learn with open minds and hearts full of love, joy, and empathy. We believe that developing a sense of spirituality is an essential part of the human experience and the learning process. Students engage in a values-based exploration of virtues such as interdependence, gratitude, resilience, wonder, and stewardship.

Our Program

Our program supports social emotional development and centers on the idea that children are inherently compassionate and strive to make positive contributions to society – even at a young age. As a community of learners we engage in social action and service, instilling in students a sense of responsibility to their local and global communities.

“To create a community and create change, you need to understand each other.”

Celebrating the diversity of all religious faiths

At All Saints Day School we foster a nurturing environment for children to explore their spirituality.

We recognize that spirituality is an integral aspect of the human experience and create space for exploration of virtues such as interdependence, gratitude, resilience, empathy, wonder, and stewardship. Our curriculum encourages students to engage in a “spiritual conversation” that permeates all aspects of life – intellectual, physical, emotional, moral, artistic, and social.

At All Saints, we embrace children of all backgrounds and beliefs. We celebrate the diversity of religious faiths and traditions present in our school community and the world beyond. We believe that sharing and understanding different beliefs enriches our collective experience and deepens the sense of belonging.

While we recognize the importance of spirituality, we respect that religious foundations are the decision and responsibility of families. Our focus is on fostering a supportive environment where children can explore their beliefs and those of others.

Social Action and Service

Social Action and Service are embedded in the curriculum at All Saints, offering ongoing opportunities for students to engage in projects to support their community beyond the doors of the school. These projects focus on developing an awareness from a young age on the needs of others through learning about topics such as homelessness, food insecurity, and the lives of refugees. Local community speakers educate students about how they can help combat inequities and injustices in our community. An example of the way that this learning comes together is Empty Bowls. Empty Bowls integrates lessons on food insecurity with a morning of service for our entire community- students, families, and faculty. This service supports local organizations, such as the Hoboken Community Center, the Hoboken Shelter, Welcome Home Jersey City, and St. Matthew’s Lunchtime Ministry. At All Saints, we believe that every child, regardless of age, can make a meaningful impact today on the world around them through social action and service. Join us in nurturing compassionate, socially conscious individuals who are equipped to contribute positively to their communities..
